At The Curtain Exchange we can sell your curtains and help you find replacements.
If you have goods to sell
We accept curtains with a drop of 2200mm or longer.
When making our selection we chose items that are free of marks, fading, are clean (no dust), good quality and fashionable.
Goods over 5 years are generally not accepted, however please enquire if you feel they are unique, such as Belgium linen, Italian brocade or interlined silks. You are welcome to call and discuss your goods prior to bringing them into the showroom.
Goods are taken on consignment for 3-months at a 50% commission on the selling price. We are required to charge GST on your commission. We price items based on quality, age, condition and demand.
At the end of the 3-month period the consignor is required to call. There is no fee if goods have not sold.
On-site inspection service
The Curtain Exchange provides an on-site inspection service to advise you on the saleability of goods. A $40.00 (metro) fee payable in advance. Please note that all goods must meet our criteria before an appointment is made.
An on-site inspection appointment does not ensure a placement of goods. We do not remove the goods. The fee is for inspection only. You are welcome to bring your goods into the showroom for us to view at no cost.
This service is ideal for house lots.
